Ravi Panjabi, MD
Dr. Ravi Panjabi is a board-certified anesthesiologist and pain management physician with over 30 years of experience in his field. He operates his own clinic, Advanced Pain Management, in Castro Valley, California, where he treats adolescents and adults. He has over 20 years of experience treating and caring for Personal Injury patients and those who have suffered injuries at a workplace and doing independent medical evaluations. Dr. Panjabi’s approach to patient care is rooted in dignity, integrity, compassion, and respect.
At Advanced Pain Management, Dr. Panjabi focuses on providing relief to patients suffering from various spine and other painful conditions such as arthritis, diabetic neuropathy, and different types of neck, arm, and leg pain. He employs the latest pharmacological and interventional techniques, such as epidural injections, regenerative medicine procedures, and various spine and joint procedures including implantation of spinal cord stimulators and pain pumps, to help his patients. Dr. Panjabi is passionate about his work and strives to get to the root cause of pain while improving overall function and alleviating symptoms.
Dr. Panjabi’s extensive medical training began in India, where he completed medical school and earned a Master’s in Orthopedic Surgery from Grant Medical College in Bombay (now Mumbai). During his time there, he also obtained board certification in Orthopedics. In 1989, he relocated to the United States and completed his equivalency exams before embarking on an internal medicine internship at St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, Illinois. Dr. Panjabi went on to complete a residency in anesthesiology at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois, and a pain management fellowship at the University of Illinois in Chicago. Prior to moving to California in 1998, he worked for a large pain management and anesthesiology group in Tampa Bay, Florida.
Dr. Panjabi values giving back to his community and often volunteers his time at the Sindhi Community of Northern California (SCNC), where his wife Seema Panjabi serves as the president. Additionally, he regularly mentors pre-med students and writes recommendation letters for them.
